Hillary Clinton offers up this same gem
Voters will judge whether living in a foreign country at the age of 10 prepares one to face the big, complex international challenges the next president will face. I think we need a president with more experience than that…. I don’t think this is the time for on-the-job training on our economy or on foreign policy…”
The condescension is dripping as if John Kerry said it himself.
The day that George Bush offers up this:
Obama offers “odd foreign policy,” suggests he and other rivals lack experience.
Obama spokesman Burton responds to Bush: “I can’t tell if he’s endorsing her, hoping she’s the nominee or thanking her for her votes on Iraq and Iran.“
I look forward to liberal kvetching about the Clinton Campaign use of right wing talking points….nevermind.
If we’re voting in the primary based purely on experience, Sen. Clinton needs to step aside for Sen. Biden who has decades more “experience” in DC than she.
Having lived overseas and served in the U.S. military overeas, I’ve always thought Obama’s experience living among regular people overseas was a hell of a lot more useful than hobnobbing with foreign elites b/c someone is a muckitymuck politician.
And if experience was so important, why did the people with experience (Biden, HRC and Richardson) either get it wrong on Iraq or stay quiet about their criticisms at the time?
I’m not 100% sold on Obama, but the experience issue pisses me off.
Obama connects with real people overseas. The others, not so much. Obama has a track record of getting past the BS and seeing the problems of invading Iraq.
And Obama has IMO accomplished more in less time in the Senate than either HRC or Edwards.
