Keyes needs to pay his taxes and having the campaign pay him is probably the best way

The past might resurface in other ways. More than two years ago, Maryland issued a lien against Keyes and his wife for delinquent and unpaid state income taxes for 1997. A copy of the civil filing in Montgomery County Circuit Court shows the couple still owes $7,481.99 in taxes, interest and penalties.

Thank you, Illinois Central Committee Members. I think I can say I couldn’t have asked for a better gift.

Oh, and thank you God, I owe you one.

Apparently, It’s Keyes. Pascoe has found another gravy train, I’m sure Proft will be along for the ride too.

UPDATE: Even better. In comments, he hasn’t accepted yet–he is thinking about it. LOL. So, what happens if he says no? I think he will run because he is that much of an egomaniac, but either way this could be delicious.

Austin-Mayor makes a very good effort to find a reason the GOP is seriously considering Keyes.

On ABC 7 in Chicago today:

Kevin Roy: When Pat Buchanan suggested on fox news channel in march of 2000 that he run for senate in New York, Keyes responded “I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton?s willingness go into a state she doesn’t even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn’t imitate it.” That is from Alan Keyes three years ago. Now, he is scheduled to meet with the republican central committee at 2:00 this afternoon. They are expected to announce the final decision sometime later today.

Thank God for the Illinois Republican Party’s existence to return you to hysterical laughter.

Putting all the pieces together, one has to wonder if Pascoe’s engineering of this fiasco isn’t a way to get Jack! back in the race. I have no idea if that is legal/possible, but I will say that at this point I have given up saying anything is unrealistic.
