Oh, Really?

That the reason why her (and other Iraq veterans) are running as Democrats, is because the Republican veterans re-enlisted. But, of course no one is lending an ear to the brave people who go back in because they believe in protecting our country. Have you heard any stories about the people who go back to fight? Of course not, but there’s many who have a story to tell. Trust me, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there are more Democrat Iraq veterans running for office than there are Republicans, for the very reason I wrote above. Republicans believe in this war, and keep gonig back to fight it. Democrats are cowarding over here, trying to buy votes with the “I hate Bush” mantra. However, it is always amuzing, if not irritating, to see the media focus on any “anti-Bush” B.S. than the good news of the war.

Let me repeat this bit:

That the reason why her (and other Iraq veterans) are running as Democrats, is because the Republican veterans re-enlisted. But, of course no one is lending an ear to the brave people who go back in because they believe in protecting our country.

There’s wingnuttery and then there’s this wingnuttery.

  1. Brace yourself for some strange stuff with this race.

On a related note here, you folks at SoapBox Chicago need to rethink your image of Chicago’s Anarchist Sameul Fielden.

I like history but at a time of a war on terror, he may not be the best choice. I’ve explained my thoughts here.

Your blog… your space… but there are better images a liberal or radical could pick now a days.

  2. AngryRepublicanMom does go off the deep end there by saying that Democratic OIF veteran politicians are cowards for not reinlisting and I find those remarks highly insulting and wrong. However, Michael at SBC is equally offensive (just at much shorter length) by his description of her as “another yellow elephant”. He’s doing the exact same thing he’s criticising Angry for.

Having watched enough reality TV shows, I think it’s pretty clear that people (yes, that includes me on a technicality) don’t have a good idea of how they come across to people, and how often they don’t notice how offensive they are.

Here’s a case where Michael lost me by a simple gratuitous insult when he otherwise had an open and shut case to make.

  3. Good. Golly. I can not believe someone had the audacity to say that. The stupidity even. Every time I think they’ve hit the pinnacle, they reach higher.

  4. A lot of times I’ll draft comments to a post only to delete them rather than post them. Maybe I said something stupid, or insulting, or maybe something really insightful, but I delte them just the same.

Others should be encouraged to take up this practice.

I will, as someone, who dropped into Springfield after working DC most of my career, suggest that some of the Democrat carping about Maj. Duckworth wasn’t unexpected. Illinois can be quite parochial and somewhat hostile to newcomers — even if they are native. You really have to take your time.

  5. Ridiculous. Someone claims an anarchist figure can not be posted on a website because we are at war. Why must this unjustified war determine everything the Democratic party pursues? Not only does it determine which candidates the DCCC will support; but it must also determine the image of progressive politics. Take your DLC rhetoric and go somewhere else.

  6. And Rich Miller, I do not believe comparing this woman to a Cegelis supporter is very fair. I demand an apology immediately.

  7. This is a blatant and atrocious example of ungramatical wingnuttery. The moron should have said ‘The reason why she….’ NOT. ‘The reason why her…’
