You get a big name relatively popular with independents Presidential Candidate to come in for a fundraiser and a story breaks about some odd relationship with a lobbyist who has a strikingly similar look to his wife.
Pascoe has one of the oddest records in politics–mostly losing and losing bizarrely.

Iseman and Maverick
The Iseman Cometh
True story, the most recent McCain mailer was called The Hard Part
Cue up the “the New York Times held it to hurt Republicans” whine any moment…
Iseman and Maverick is clearly the winner.
Not sure how the moldy oldy “Liberal Media” canard applies seeing as how Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul are still in the Republican race.
Holding til after McCain actually was the nominee would’ve hurt him more. As of now, the only potential is that it helps the #2 GOP guy bump up a bit.
Huck did wait all of about an hour and a half before reminding folks by email blast that he’s the “values” guy. The Huckster also said he has “conviction” which, in the wake of Cunningham, Noe, Abramoff and the rest of the conservative cabal of convicts is maybe not the best choice of words.

Ditto Nicholas… Has Mac lost that loving feeling? Maybe he’ll pick Rudy 9iu11iani as his running mate, for the lothario pointers and all.
PS – The Times held it because the Straight Shooter begged them to.
PPS – Dan Curry managed (by about 90 minutes) to “prespond” to your quip about cueing up the whining.
Say this for Pascoe, his reputation precedes him. I will guarantee that he and his client will embarrass the hell out of themselves en route to their drubbing by Anita Alvarez.
While I am out on this lonely limb, I will predict that spring will follow winter, the sun will rise on the eastern horizon and set on the western one, and Mark Penn will continue to make inane comments in support of his client.
