That was one Marty Bahamonde who testified before Congress yesterday
Bahamonde had just learned, as he huddled in New Orleans’ Superdome with evacuees, that Brown’s press secretary was fretting about blocking out time for the director to eat dinner at one of Baton Rouge’s busy restaurants that night.
“OH MY GOD!!!!!!!” Bahamonde messaged the co-worker. “I just ate an MRE” ? military rations ? “and crapped in the hallway of the Superdome along with 30,000 other close friends so I understand her concern about busy restaurants
I’d done a FOIA request, but apparently that was unnecessary.
He’s also a career civil servant and did his job. He deserves our thanks.
Apparently Tom DeLay is Running Ads for Ronnie Earle’s Reelection
Criticizing Ronnie Earle in Travis County Texas for going after Tom DeLay is sort of like criticizing the Pope in Vatican City for being a Papist.
I wonder if they have to file an in-kind donation form on behalf of Earle for the commercial?

Between the hurricane and this being a slow quarter, expect the 3rd Quarter numbers to be down overall. Those that needed a quick out of the gate number already did it, and lots of money went to charitable donations this quarter.

Lindy just entered the race and put up a small, but admittedly first fundraising quarter. I don’t pay much attention to the first fundraising quarter, though he still did show numbers above what many other new candidates do if they aren’t trying to make a splash.

Peter dropped out and probably due to mediocre fundraising, but more to the point, what a pain the ass fundraising is and still trying to raise a family and the sort. I do hope we’ll see Peter back in a local race in a couple years or something as he seemed like a good guy.

The way I’m reading the report, he still has $25,000 he owes the FEC, but I may be wrong on that.
