From The Inbox: It Gets Better

On ABC 7 in Chicago today:

Kevin Roy: When Pat Buchanan suggested on fox news channel in march of 2000 that he run for senate in New York, Keyes responded “I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton?s willingness go into a state she doesn’t even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn’t imitate it.” That is from Alan Keyes three years ago. Now, he is scheduled to meet with the republican central committee at 2:00 this afternoon. They are expected to announce the final decision sometime later today.

That’s Democratic

If anyone is stupid enough to argue Democrat is the appropriate term for the Democrat Party, please take it up with the OED:

2. U.S. politics. (With capital D.) Name of the political party originally called Anti-Federal and afterwards Democratic-Republican, initially favouring strict interpretation of the Constitution with regard to the powers of the general government and of individual States, and the least possible interference with local and individual liberty; in opposition to the party now (since 1854) called Republican (formerly called Federals and Whigs). b. Pertaining to the Democratic party, as ?a Democratic measure?.

Because Eric is having fun tormenting the stupid.

Who’s Pushing Keyes?

Knowledgeable sources say Jack Ryan’s communication director Bill Pascoe is a major player in the push for Alan Keyes.

Hey, I’ve got an idea, When the Central Committee of the Illinois GOP finishes destroying a once proud moderate state party, could they turn the lights out? Does anyone remember that fantastic press strategy that Pascoe ran for Jack!

Had A Very Bad Day

That’s incorrect. It was an amazing to see democracy operate for a good candidate even if he came up 2,000 votes short. And there are a gazillion stories to relate over the next few days. For those who remember me promoting Jeff Smith for Gephardt’s seat, well, it didn’t quite end like I hoped, but Jeff won the County and City of Saint Louis, but outstate votes won it for Russ Carnahan. I know some readers helped him out and I want to thank you.
