You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Jared Taylor unequivocally condemns Roof while equivocating

The Council of Conservative Citizens is a group that has long been tied to prominent Republican politicians in the American South and counts opposition to “all efforts to mix the races of mankind” among its stated principles. A spokesman for the group condemned the Charleston shooting while suggesting that the suspected gunman’s motives were still legitimate.

“The C of CC unequivocally condemns [Dylann] Roof’s murderous actions,” the spokesman, Jared Taylor (pictured), said in the statement posted on the group’s website. “However, the council stands unshakably behind the facts on its website, and points out the dangers of denying the extent of black-on-white crime.”

Who is Jared Taylor?  The modern face of eugenics & “scientific racism”

Taylor entered the active racist scene in 1990, when he founded the New Century Foundation, a pseudo-intellectual think tank that promotes “research” arguing for white superiority. A year later, he began publishing American Renaissance, a magazine that focuses on the alleged links between race and intelligence, and on eugenics, the now discredited “science” of breeding better humans.

“Never in the history of the world has a dominant people thrown open the gates to strangers, and poured its wealth out to aliens,” Taylor wrote in his magazine, under the pseudonym Thomas Jackson, in 1991. “All healthy people prefer the company of their own kind.” Blacks, Taylor writes, are “crime-prone,” “dissipated,” “pathological” and “deviant.”

Taylor, whose 1992 Paved With Good Intentions: The Failure of Race Relations in Contemporary America makes similar points in a book format, went further out on the racist limb in 1993 by speaking at a conference of the Council of Conservative Citizens, a white supremacist group that has described black people as “a retrograde species of humanity.” Today, Taylor’s New Century Foundation is intimately related to the council through “common membership, governing bodies, trustees and officers,” according to the foundation’s tax forms.

In the late 1990s, Taylor came out with The Color of Crime, a booklet that tried to use crime statistics to “prove” that blacks are far more criminally prone than whites — and that argued, based on a misunderstanding of what constitutes a hate crime, that black “hate crimes” against whites exponentially outnumbered the reverse. That racist booklet is now a staple in white supremacist circles. Taylor’s New Century Foundation also plays host to biannual American Renaissance Conferences, suit-and-tie affairs that attract a broad spectrum of the participants from the racist right, including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, Holocaust deniers and eugenicists. The conferences nearly always have an international presence. Speakers have included such prominent figures in the European radical right as Nick Griffin, leader of the racist British National Party, and Bruno Gollnisch, the then second-in-command of Jean Marie Le Pen’s immigrant-bashing French National Front.

More recently, Taylor has sounded off against all black culture, railing in a 2005 article in American Renaissance, “Africa in our Midst: Lessons from Katrina” that “the barbaric behavior” of the city’s black population after the hurricane revealed a key truth: “Blacks and whites are different. When blacks are left entirely to their own devices, Western civilization —any kind of civilization — disappears.”

One thing that separates Taylor from much of the radical right, however, is his lack of anti-Semitism; he told MSNBC-TV interviewer Phil Donahue in 2003 that Jews “are fine by me” and “look white to me.” Taking this position, however, has proven problematic for Taylor. Although he once banned discussion of the so-called “Jewish question” from American Renaissance venues and, in 1997, kicked Holocaust deniers and neo-Nazis off his E-mail list, Taylor also continued to allow people like Don Black, the former Klan leader who runs the neo-Nazi Stormfront.org web forum, and Jamie Kelso, a Stormfront moderator, to attend his biannual American Renaissance conferences. The problem for Taylor is that many of the most active participants at his conferences and the most committed members of the American radical right are passionately anti-Semitic. To ban them for their anti-Semitic views would be a devastating blow to Taylor’s efforts to make his journal and conferences the flagship institutions of American extremism.

So he doesn’t hate Jews, he just doesn’t mind people who do.

Basically he’s sober enough to talk to the media while Earl drowns himself in bottles of self-hatred along with hating everything else.

Recycling His Old Bits

The Amazing thing about Earl is how proud he is of himself for recycling his racist garbage

http://www.theblaze.com/user/earl-p-holt-iii/

If you think you can educate them, or embarrass them, or reason with them, or that your Christian compassion will be reciprocated, then you are the kind of person who will be completely baffled when they kill you, rape your entire family, and burn your house to the ground.

Sounds familiar.

Earl Holt is Back in the News

Because he is spewing racist garbage again, only this time, one of his little followers killed 9 black people.

Earl Holt has given $65,000 to Republican campaign funds in recent years while inflammatory remarks – including that black people were “the laziest, stupidest and most criminally-inclined race in the history of the world” – were posted online in his name.

After being approached by the Guardian on Sunday, Cruz’s presidential campaign said it would be returning all money the senator had received from Holt.

Holt, 62, is the president of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC), a Missouri-based activist organisation cited by the author of a manifesto-style text that was posted on a website registered in Roof’s name along with photographs of the gunman. The FBI said on Saturday it was investigating the website.

The manifesto’s author, who has been widely reported but not verified as Roof, recounted learning about “brutal black on white murders” from the CofCC website.

Of course, the CofCC Website doesn’t have the unedited Earl Holt–only I have that. From 2003

Hate Mail—Parental Advisory

Posted in November 14th, 2003 | Edit

The following e-mail I received is one of the most offensive bits of excrement to ever show up in my inbox. I debated even posting it, but given Earl was a school board member in St. Louis just a decade ago and there is a collective amnesia about how far over the top these guys were, here it goes. It contains multiple obscenities and the most offensive racial slur.

Hey Commie:

Imagine my chagrin when I used a search engine to find commentary about myself, and there was your shallow, dilettante, asshole self, labeling me a “white supremacist.”

Being the shallow, nigger-loving dilettante that you are, you probably DO consider niggers to be your equal (who am I to question this?): Yet, unlike you and your allies, I have an I.Q. in excess of 130, which grants me the ability to objectively evaluate the Great American Nigro (Africanus Criminalis.)

The nigro is 11.5 % of the U.S. population, yet he commits in excess of 55% of all felonies (although felonies are UNDER-represented in the nigro community, where observing the law is considered “acting White!”) Moreover, he (or should I say she?)accounts for 48% of all ADC recipients in the U.S. We have spent over $7 TRILLION on “Urban Welfare Spending” since the mid-1960s, (black economists Thomas Sowell & Walter Williams) and the nigro is still as criminal, surly, lazy , violent and stupid as he/she ever was, while his illegitimacy rate is 80% nationwide, and over 90% in the “large urban areas.”

By the way, those of us who tried to end forced busing in St. Louis did so because it is a colossal waste and nothing more than a symbolic gesture that has seriously deprived every school district in Missouri that doesn’t benefit from a deseg program : It has cost the state of Missouri $3.5 BILLION since 1983, (another $3.5 Billion in Kansas City,) yet, the nigro “scholars” bussed to county schools under deseg “improve less academically than every other category of student in the St. Louis Public Schools,” according to the Federal Court- ordered Lissitz Study.

Also, you lying asshole, in the 2003-2004 school year, St. Louis spent $11,711 per nigger -idiot in the public schools, yet, half of all students test at the 20th percentile (or lower) on nationally-standardized tests. (If I were Emperor, I would forcibly hand over you and all your commie apologists for nigro under-achievement to White, working-class parents of public school students, and let them have their way with you…)

Some day, You sanctimonious nigger-lovers will either have to live amongst them (“nothing cures an enthusiasm for integration like a good dose of niggers”) or else defend yourselves against them. My guess is that you are such a cowardly and pusillanimous lot of girly-boys, they will kill fuck, kill and eat you just as they do young White males in every prison system in the U.S. That’s right: When defending this savage and brutish lot, you must also consider their natural ( or should I say UN-natural) enthusiasm for buggery!

I honestly pray to God that some nigger fucks, kills and eats you and everyone you claim to love!

P.S. I dare you to print this e-mail verbatim: You know as well as I do that most people know I speak the truth, and you are a liar and whore who takes to heart Lenin’s dictum that “The first duty of the propagandist is to subvert the meaning of words.”

=====

I’ll stand by my comment that Earl is a white supremacist.

UP DATE:
As suggested in a note, here is what I originally wrote about Earl. Comments were a bit erratic early, but should be working now.

UPDATE II: Remember, Fridays from 10-12 on WGNU Earl and Gordon Baum of theCouncil of Conservative Citizens host the Right at Night–a veritable hate fest. Streaming audio is available as is toll free call in for those outside the area:
314-454-0400 or
1-877-920-WGNU!

He may still have the same phone number.  Who knows…

Holt is truly scum of the earth. His partner on his old radio show was the founder of the CofCC, Gordon Baum who recently died.. Besides have the worst nasally Saint Louis accent ever (and that’s a feat) he took the old White Citizen’s Councils and formed the Council of Conservative Citizens using it to be a slightly more presentable version of the Klan–just as the White Citizen’s Council was.  Holt was on the School Board in Saint Louis City and he along with his allies almost took a majority on it before being beaten back by an integrated campaign.

Truly Awesome Bit of Opposition Research

Whoever was after Schock did a masterful job not only of finding the different bits, but of doling it out in a disciplined and controlled way.  That’s something Schock never had–he started his Congressional Campaign with a long rambling treatise that he thought showed off how bright he was.  It didn’t–it showed what an incredible lightweight he was and then he traded more on beefcake than substance.

One of the better quotes in the archive is here:

In 2008, Schock hadn’t even been sworn in as a congressman yet, but when I asked him whether he was frustrated that he wouldn’t turn 30 until 2011, he didn’t even deny that he was looking past his next job.

“In politics,” he said, “you never know who’s going to die, retire or — in Illinois — get indicted.”

He was prescient. The next week, Rod Blagojevich was arrested.

So you could say Schock has been running for the Senate for the last two years.

That was in a particularly bad piece by Edward McClelland who seemed to think Schock was the bees knees and one of the most awful style over substance pieces by the local press in years–about typical if it had been in DC.

He Never Was That Bright

So Aaron Schock is stepping down after at a minimum billing the federal government for mileage he didn’t accrue.  It’s important to remember, Schock always thought he was a lot smarter than the evidence suggested.

Daily Dolt: Aaron Schock, Fighting Non-Proliferation With Proliferation

Posted in November 8th, 2007 | Edit

Aaron Schock is now in the competition for being the stupidest candidate to run this cycle. I’m taking a bigger chunk from the column because it is so amazing so my apologies to Bernie and the Springfield Journal-Register:

I couldn’t attend Schock’s official announcement of his candidacy for Congress, but I did recently receive a copy of his speech, which included a number of foreign policy proposals.

In particular, Schock’s plan to offer nuclear arms to Taiwan if China doesn’t go along with U.S. policy toward Iran seemed odd to me.

An international relations expert I checked with agreed, saying that idea not only shows “incredible naivete,” but, if carried out, probably would lead to war between China and Taiwan.

Shock, a Peoria Republican, at 26, is the youngest member of the Illinois General Assembly. He also is one of the three Republican candidates to replace retiring U.S. Rep. RAY LaHOOD, R-Peoria, in Illinois’ 18th Congressional District. Schock made his intentions official Oct. 27 with events in Peoria Heights and Springfield.

In his speech, he noted that President RONALD REAGANcame to the aid of such rebel groups as the Contras in Nicaragua and the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan. Schock said Reagan also provided freedom movements such as Solidarity in Poland “with CIA training in organizing, and all the equipment necessary to function.”

“Any freedom movement in a totalitarian country faces enormous difficulty in organizing against the unlimited resources of a ruthless state,” Schock said in the speech. “Those freedom movements need help from free nations. In Congress, I will advocate for them.

Schock said he would propose spending the same amount to support “freedom fighters inside Iran” as Iran gives Hezbollah in Lebanon each year

“Let’s turn the tables,” Schock said.

The money could be used to train underground leaders in how to organize and prevent detection, satellite phones, communications, radio broadcasts from nearby countries, “and eventually arms,” Schock said.

“Funding a freedom movement to overthrow the regime will cause massive turmoil in Iran,” he went on. “No American troops will be necessary. We will simply facilitate the people’s overthrow of the Iranian regime, just (as) we did successfully all over Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, Ethiopia and Nicaragua.

In regard to Taiwan, Schock said the U.S. should put more pressure on China and Russia to go along with tougher economic sanctions against Iran.

“If China continues to be irresponsible about nuclear proliferation in Iran, we should tell them that if they do not care about proliferation — and since they are enablers of it in Iran — that if they don’t change their position, we will sell Pershing nuclear missiles to Taiwan for their defense.”

“Non-proliferation will either be enforced universally or not at all — it is their choice,” Schock continued. “The Chinese will come around, I have no doubt.”

The obvious problem is that if we were to scrap the non-proliferation treaty, as this move would require, there would be no way to force inspection or be able to use multilateral tools to pressure countries to not go nuclear and it would mean that countries like Pakistan and North Korea would be free to engage in proliferation activities. This isn’t just stupid, it’s dangerously stupid.

If Taiwan were to even think seriously about developing a nuclear deterrent, mainland China would attack and we would be forced to enter into World War III or let Taiwan fall.

This is exactly the kind of insanity that Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld were promoting when they kept sending envoys trying to get Taiwan to declare independence, only this would utterly destroy the entire fabric of non-proliferation policy worldwide.

Aaron Schock is a moron and anyone this dangerous must be stopped from getting to Congress.

H/T Rich

How Goo Goos Got a Bad Rep

Rich has a righteous rant on stupid Tribune tricks.

This cracked me up

It looks to me like a constituent’s issue turned into a really good idea. Finance degrees are A-OK to be a school business official but a master’s in public freaking administration isn’t? What the heck is that about? Of course the law should’ve been changed.

This is actually a really common distinction.  I don’t know why, but it is and Rich is absolutely right.

Daily Dolt: If You Are Going to Shit Your Money Down the Toilet, Just Give It To Me

California Billionaire wants to split California into six states so he gets it put on the ballot in California.

A small problem with this idea is that the Constitution has a pretty specific Section on the matter:

Article IV Section Section 3

1:  New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within theJurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

If you are just going to shit your money down the toilet, just  give it to me. I can find something useful to do with it.

Extra bonus to Reuters that didn’t even mention the Constitution in the article at all.
