On ABC 7 in Chicago today:
Kevin Roy: When Pat Buchanan suggested on fox news channel in march of 2000 that he run for senate in New York, Keyes responded “I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton?s willingness go into a state she doesn’t even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn’t imitate it.” That is from Alan Keyes three years ago. Now, he is scheduled to meet with the republican central committee at 2:00 this afternoon. They are expected to announce the final decision sometime later today.
Thank God for the Illinois Republican Party’s existence to return you to hysterical laughter.
Putting all the pieces together, one has to wonder if Pascoe’s engineering of this fiasco isn’t a way to get Jack! back in the race. I have no idea if that is legal/possible, but I will say that at this point I have given up saying anything is unrealistic.

Knowledgeable sources say Jack Ryan’s communication director Bill Pascoe is a major player in the push for Alan Keyes.
Hey, I’ve got an idea, When the Central Committee of the Illinois GOP finishes destroying a once proud moderate state party, could they turn the lights out? Does anyone remember that fantastic press strategy that Pascoe ran for Jack!
They are that nuts. Really, they are that nuts to basically try and narrow the race down to two candidates who are black.
The state GOP is so weak they are thinking of nominating a nutjob from Maryland to run for Senate. Do you understand that both of these candidates will tank the downballot races?

And ABC is reporting Gorman is out.
Samuelson is 70 and is recovering from two major surgeries. News accounts are starting to mention internet commentators. Let’s face it, OneMan should be the first in line if that is the case. At least he has a little fight left in him.
