Can Receive, Can’t Send E-mail

So a few of you are sending me stuff–keep it up. I just can’t respond easily right now.

DC is good–I have an amazing room. About to head towards the Hill for dinner with a staffer friend. And then Drinking. A lot.

  1. Two things about DC that don’t exist in Springfield or St. Louis

Trains that run until 3 AM and Cabs run all night.

    I caught the train even.

And I don’t have a car here, though I would have been happy to sleep at a Metro Station.

  2. Shows how parochial I’ve become. Before I read the whole thing, I read “head to the Hill for dinner” as having a big sloppy dish of pasta in some joint on Macklind.

  3. You know, there’s this park they’ve got between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. You might find shelter there. Admittedly, it’s sleeping “rough” as they say but if you’re really tired, there’s nothing better than a good park bench.

And who knows, you might even find a few others from Illinois there!

  4. Boy! Do I envy you. I love DC. It’s best in the Spring when everything has gone lush again… no pun intended.

Try using your webmail account. I have to resort to that sometimes when I travel. It doesn’t go thru the same rigmarol as the mail program to send.
