Just Because the IL GOP Is Participating in the Jim Jones Olympics

Doesn’t mean I have to….

Berkowitz is upset that I made fun of Keyes attempt to crash a debate.

Archpundit thinks civil disobedience is conduct unbecoming a U. S. Senate Candidate?

A quick retraction is in order.

Oh, this is rich. My good blogging friend and gung-ho, unabashedly Democratic Blogger Larry Handlin [www.archpundit.com] is now questioning Ambassador Keyes? dignity because Keyes engaged in civil disobedience [protesting the exclusionary policies with respect to Presidential Candidates who were not front-runners for a presidential candidate debate sponsored by an ABC affiliate ].

Larry is, of course, demonstrating once again that political partisans [both Ds and Rs] have no shame when it comes to making baseless partisan arguments against their opponents. But, Larry, would you really want to call one-half of your readers and about one-third of the Democratic Party, not to mention your Party?s fearless leader, undignified? I didn?t think so. So, we can expect a quick retraction?

As Thoreau said[I think]– when the laws are unjust, the place for the just is in jail. Imagine me- having to remind Archpundit Handlin of that. Who would have thunk it?

This all assumes that Keyes had a beef–but the fact is Keyes is a first class loon. That is why he was excluded and the attempt to crash it is another symptom of being a loon. The Hunger Strike was really impressive but really was a definitive moment in answering the question of whether when a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?

I’m sorry the Republican Central Committee is suffering from mass hysteria, but it’s not my fault.

Speaking of Carpet Baggers

Tim Hutchison of the idiot Hutchison’s in Arkansas has a bit of a problem–he didn’t bother to live in his district long enough before filing for office. Hutchison comes from the Arkansas Hutchison’s who we’d all hoped had gone away. Help out his challenger Robbyn Tumey before little Timmy shows up on the national stage.

This morning, Robbyn Tumey, the Democratic nominee for state representative
of District 95, filed a legal challenge to Timothy C. Hutchison?s
eligibility under the residency requirements of the Arkansas Constitution.
If the Circuit Court of Pulaski County grants Ms. Tumey?s petition, Mr.
Hutchinson will be removed from the November ballot.

? This matter has not yet been set for a hearing.

? The complaint and petition asks that the Court declare Mr. Hutchinson
ineligible as a candidate for state representative, District 95 and asks for
an order removing him from the ballot.

? The complaint and petition alleges that Timothy C. Hutchinson did not
satisfy the candidate residency requirement of Article 5, Section 4 of the
Arkansas Constitution. Article 5, Section 4 of the Arkansas Constitution
requires that state representative candidates reside in their districts for
at least one year before their election.

? In this instance, Timothy C. Hutchinson was required to reside in District
95 on or before November 2, 2003.

The complaint and petition lays out the following facts regarding Mr.
Hutchinson?s residency:

o In 2003, Mr. Hutchinson lived at 524 Tumbleweed Street in Lowell,
Arkansas, a residence located in District 94, not District 95.

o Some time prior to November 2, 2003, Mr. Hutchinson rented a duplex
located in District 95 at 911 E. Mimosa Street, Rogers, Arkansas.

o However, he never made this duplex his residence. He never moved into
District 95.

o On November 2, 2003 and continuing for some time after that date, Mr.
Hutchinson?s residence remained at 524 Tumbleweed Street in District 94.

o Thus, Mr. Hutchinson is ineligible to be a candidate for state
representative of District 95. Jenkins v. Bogard, 335 Ark. 334, 341, 980
S.W.2d 270 (1998) (?to effect a change of domicile from one locality to
another, there must be an actual abandonment of the first domicile, coupled
with an intention not to return to it and there must be a new domicile
acquired by actual residence in another place or jurisdiction, with intent
of making the last acquired residence a permanent home?).

o In the Spring of 2004, Mr. Hutchinson moved to 309 Eclipse Street, Lowell,
Arkansas, a residence located within District 95.

STATEMENT OF ROBBYN TUMEY ON TUMEY V. DANIELS, ET AL.

This matter will not deter me from talking about issues with the voters of
District 95, namely reducing health care costs, improving our infrastructure
and making our schools more accountable to parents. I believe that our
legislature should act to reduce health care costs for employers and
employees. We can find new and innovative ways to build new roads quickly
without raising taxes. Our educational system should be held accountable to
the people who fund it, the taxpayers and families of Arkansas.

It’s Not Low Hanging Fruit

It all fell off the tree already:

On Moderate Republicans:

Keyes on Moderate Republicans
?On all the matters that touch upon the critical moral issues, Arnold Schwarzenegger is on the evil side. This is a fact. A mere list of the positions he supports is enough to make this plain: abortion as a ?right,? cloning of human beings, governmental classification of citizens by race, public benefits for sexual partners outside of marriage, disrespect for property rights against environmental extremism, repudiation of the right to bear arms – no more need be said to show that this candidate is wrong where human decency, human rights and human responsibility bear directly on political issues.?

WorldNetDaily, ?Arnold?s corruption of Republican Party,? October 6, 2003

Yeah, that’ll help the down ballot races. Sure. I’m sure that moderate pro-choice women in the burbs are going to love this guy. Sure of it. Certain even.

On Abortion:

Keyes on Reproductive Choice
?The violation on [sic] innocent human life is the same whether you commit terrorism or commit abortion.?

People For the American Way Foundation, ?The Vocabulary of Terror: Anti-abortion politics since 9/11,? April 10, 2002

Definitely a uniter.

On Homosexuality:

Keyes on Homosexuality
?Hitler and his supporters were Satanists and homosexuals. That?s just a true statement.? He added that, ?The notion that is involved in homosexuality, the unbridled sort of satisfaction of human passions? leads to ??totalitarianism,? ?Nazism,? and ?communism.??

People For the American Way Foundation, ?Hostile Climate 1997,? p.26

And on black anti-semitism:

Keyes on Jews and Anti-Semitism
?The tragic and violent clashes between blacks and Jews are unhappily not the product of a unique and isolated set of circumstances. I believe that, unwittingly, Jewish supporters of the government-dominated welfare state approach to the economic and social problems of the black community helped to create the mentality that now produces anger and anti-Semitism in black neighborhoods.?
