The punchline to the morons protesting a Muslim Community Center, known as the Cordoba Center, near the World Trade Center site, is that it’s a group based on interfaith understanding. Seriously:

These folks are the best of America and exactly who Osama bin Laden hates the most. The most powerful weapon against a reactionary lunatic like bin Laden is a celebration of diversity and tolerance of all.
Frankly, I wish the Scientology temple wasn’t in the neighborhood by me (they are awful drivers besides pestering me while walking to take some IQ test), but they have every right to be there. As do the Guy Fawkes masks once a month. It’s America, enjoy it.
If Conservatives think local control is good enough for Arizona (SB-1070), California (Prop 8), and Missouri (Prop C), then surely New Yorkers can decide for themselves if they want another mosque.
The red counties in America have been living in fear since 9/11. The blue counties which were actually under attack then remain unafraid even today. THAT’S my kind of town.
Guy Fawkes Masks? How do I join? Great Article. I was wondering about which “sect” it was this morning. I really should try and get to a Unitarian service. Wife has been wanting to go to “church”. She’s a protestant from the one and only asian catholic country. Gotta love it.
The Guy Fawkes people are just protesters against Scientology who have had loved ones hurt by Scientology in their view. It’s a ‘disorganized’ group actually, but they organize in cyberspace.
The Unitarian Church in the west end is apparently very nice.
