Sorry–It was Tax Day Here

And frankly, I’m angry I don’t pay more to Missouri–actually that isn’t true–I pay about the same amount relative to income as I paid in Illinois, but in Illinois I got something for it. It’s that there aren’t other revenue streams in Missouri. Tomorrow will be slow early, but midday there should be an avalanche and then slow again as I head to a candidate forum.

  1. I did my taxes over break – didn’t pay a cent and I’ve got $30 in refunds coming back to me from the state of Illinois. Being a dependent has its advantages – not that I make that much money anyway. I swear, there have to be lab monkeys that make more money than I do.

  2. The GOP big news today? Peraica pulls out of the Cook County chair race. Throws support behind Palatine Township Committeeman Gary Skoien.

The Leader points out the 68-29% dem-repub primary ballot numbers in Suburban Cook. The demographic shifts are going away from the Republicans. Even in the 2002 general the only township the Republicans won every statewide was Barrington.

Its going to be hard to keep those County Board seats Republican.

This trend has implications for the Democrats as well. If the suburbanites can build a powerbase how long will they take marching orders from the city faction.
