Skoien Better Do Some Fundraising

Because between his account and the Cook County Republican Central Committee the on-hand is
Cook County Rs: $3,057.32
Skoien’s: $266.13

Raised:
CCR $67,592.30
Skoien $818.50

Spent:
CCR: $68,389.34
Skoien: $918.50

Owed to Skoien
CCR $26000
Skoien: $16,605.93

Owed to Others
CCR $25,000

The Cook County Republican Central Committee is bankrupt without Skoien’s personal loans to it at this point. For those trying to make a conspiracy out of Skoien’s firing, let me point out that one guy with a bank account doesn’t threaten the Mayor. If anything the Mayor was annoyed by Skoien’s firing because it made his problems salient in the media instead of letting them fall away.

Worst Report: Birkett

Holy Moly

Funds available at the beginning of the reporting period $30,156.23

Total Receipts $231,805.09

Subtotal $261,961.32

Total Expenditures $98,202.13

Funds available at the close of the reporting period $163,759.19

It gets even worse when one reads through the report.

$19,000 from the Don Stephens family and associates–for a guy who claims to be law and order

and about
$15,000 from law firms in DuPage that probably have business with his office.

So Fucking Depressing

Someone go through the Governor’s report and add up the pay day loan industry’s donations to him. Even without those donations he’d have turned in a stellar report. I just can’t do it. Every time I think the guy can’t disappoint me, he goes the extra mile to do it.

Discuss

Uberweis is almost entirely self and Roeser funded while doomed candidate Ron Gidwitz has a large number of large donors ($700,000 from those named Gidwitz). How does a clown like Gidwitz get all these guys to give him big checks?

I have some theories, but I’m interested in hearing the readers first.

Come to the State Fair

The Illinois Democratic Network will be having a meet-up and rally on Governor’s Day at the Illinois State Fair. I’ll be there. Hopefully that’s not a disincentive. They are advertising on the right and I highly recommend checking out their site–an excellent resource for Democratic grass roots events.

I’ll also be there on the 18th for Republican Day.

Don’t forget the other advertisers either–the more you visit the sites, the easier it is for me to post.
