Got to hand it to Brad Cole–he’s loyal–SRCP did ads for both Jim Ryan in 2002 and Topinka in 2006. Not the best track record here.

Based on info from one commenter, I don’t think Cole’s very subtle.
Citizens for Cole received money on March 30 for payroll: $1378.31 for Jayme Siemer of Springfield and $1529.72 for Paul Sorenson from Washington D.C. The A-1 form further records payments in early April of over $400.00 for health insurance contributions, and some $1300.00 in payroll taxes to the state of Illinois and to the U.S. Treasury.
Who are Jayme Siemer and Paul Sorenson? According to OpenSecrets.org, Jayme Siemer was paid $1372.00 bi-weekly by the Republican Party for the 2006 election cycle from July 14 through November 15. Paul Sorenson is still listed on the website for former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert as a staff member with several areas of responsibility, including the Washington intern program.
And some are complaining about IL political bigwigs showing up in So. IL supporting Sheila. They need to get their facts straight about their faux full-time mayor.
Wow, that’s pretty sleazy. Don’t forget, Brad Cole is also a member of the State GOP’s Central Committee. He’s one of only 19 members in the entire state. That means he’s one of the senior Repubs overseeing the State Republican Party.
The Central Committee are the folks who picked Alan Keyes to replace Jack Ryan on the ballot for example in 2004. But don’t think Cole was a member then.
So a staffer from the State Party office that he oversees gets transferred to work on his campaign? What’s he thinking? Isn’t that a little conflict of interest?
