“…We are here to inform you Roland Burris’ name is Roland Burris and we are the Junior Senator from Lalaland and we had many, many people say to us in late October and early November, ‘Roland, you should be picked. And since you will be chosen for the Senate it just wouldn’t be right if you didn’t run in 2010. Barack Obama said he wouldn’t run for president.'” [Chuckles.]
(That was on a very spookiest of spooky Halloweens that Roland said that to himself about 2010, of course. Not April Fool’s Day.)
I am watching this morning (Wednesday) and reading various pronouncements from D.C. and Springfield and have one final comment before I move on to something more important, Lunch!
Watching this spectacle makes clear to me why nations go to war and don’t know why. A bunch of grown men and women are running around and not one of them has the courage to say, “you know what I was wrong.”
This entire sordid mess is the result of politicians saying that X will not happen without thinking at all that they could not prevent it from happening.
Secretary White was wrong. Senators Reid and Durbin were wrong and they ought at least to be men enough to acknowledge that fact.
How sad that the crook Blagojevich comes out of this looking no worse than everyone else.
Click your heels three times.
“Members of the media, Roland Burris’s name is Roland Burris.”

Rod shoulda picked me. I’ve got that uncorrupted, “Whuh? Who the fark is that?” quality.

It makes me sick!
