I’ll Be Taking That 1992 Vote Back Now

Bob Kerrey just pissed me off far more than any lesbian jokes.

Iraq has nothing to do with an unusually tall Sunni Arab who is hiding out in Pakistan. It has a lot to do with a civil war between two sects after one sect being screwed for years by the other.

  1. Before we went into Iraq, one of the arguments against doing so was it would unite the Arab world against America. Instead now we have a civil war and now the argument is we should wash our hands of it. I’d argue they’re more than two sects fighting here and more then one has certainly been screwed for many years. But I think its a civil war we have a stake in who wins, we’ve picked sides, and we ought to stand by them. And when the opposition comes to their sense and splits too, we ought to welcome them in the fight.

America doesn’t end the war or bring any peace by walking away from this war. All we do is abandon and betray brave people who’ve joined us as allies despite having betrayed them before. It would be a horrible thing for us to betray them again.
