It’s also another way George Bush has dumbed down standards. You don’t start unnecessary wars as President of the United States and it’s now an accomplishment.

I figured next year they will give Biden all of the Nobel’s for not being Dick Cheney..

Too bad it wasn’t those folks who picked who gets the Olympics.
but seriously…
The man was president for two weeks when he got nominated.
If solves the battles in Springfield, then he will have earned the award
One,
(I don’t mean this in a snark tone…)
He was president for two weeks when he was nominated but had been a Senator for four years prior…
I note this because I wonder if you have you read the prize committee’s rationale. It states in part:
“[The committee] has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.”
Please look up the work that Senator Obama did with Sen. Lugar regarding nuclear non-proliferation and detering the spread of old Soviet nukes around the world (including the Middle East).
Besides, more than one person has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their various efforts on peace between Israel and Palestine. That hasn’t happened yet either.
As even Huckabee now admits, you guys are starting to sound like whiners. 🙂 (OK, that last bit was snarky.)
Oops. No end tag on my linky there Larry. Sorry.
To paraphrase George C. Scott in Patton after conquering Messina against orders, “Do they want me to give it back?”
