Chastising his own base after opening Pandora’s box is the least he can do. He and Palin and the VRWC have gotten them so riled up with hate, fear and anger that he’s lost control. They booed him when he called them out on it.
To be honest, Obama (if he wins) ought to place McCain in the White House / Cabinet somehow and demand that he cool the tensions conservatives have inflamed for the better part of a year now.
(And yes, they’d be doing this to Hillary if she had won the primaries. This is Atwater’s “gift” to America.)
Why is it that in his major campaigns- as the probability of Obama winning increases the opponents/opponent supporters start bringing the crazy at corresponding level?
And if someone hasn’t, someone should come up with an Obama internet rumor generator.
