Keyes: No time for Illinoisans

Yes, I know the context, but that’s a bad start to any story.

  1. From the article:

Keyes adviser Bill Pascoe declined to discuss fund-raising totals so far. “It’s a strategic asset,” he said. “I know how much money Obama’s raised, he doesn’t know how much money we’ve raised. He’s not going to know until the law requires us to disclose. There are very few advantages that we have in this race.”

Well, the FEC requires a candidate to file a statement of organization within 15 days of raising or spending $5,000. As of today, he has not filed any paperwork related to this Senate race. So, either he hasn’t even raised $5,000 between 8/9 and 8/24, or he’s violating the law.

Pascoe needs to start thinking before he opens his mouth. The taste of foot is not pleasant.

  2. Thanks — and I’ll retract the previous comment. When I did a search for “Keyes,” all that showed up were his old committees.

  3. HOT: Keyes threatens to actually live in Illinois if he’s not elected

“The only way Illiniosians are going to get me out of this state is by sending me to Washington, DC.” said Keyes, “I’m buying houses in Frankfurt, Kampsville, Danville, Galesburg and Chicago. Just TRY to keep me out.”

In related news, Keyes began a climb in the polls today, still trailing Obama by 20 points.

What poll is this? I thought Obama was leading by around 40 points.
