Are you fucking kidding me? The DuPage Democratic Party thinks it’s in a position of strength? The appropriate response when a bunch of people work to create a strong grassroots operation to help Democrats and you are the local Democratic Party is a simple 2 word phrase:
“Thank you” You might add, “how can we help you out?”
Lord knows most, if not all, Cegelis supporters have been pissed at me for a variety of issues, but anyone who doesn’t think you should view them as a resource is a friggen’ idiot.
Michael is way off base in comparing the quote to an old ward boss mentality. It isn’t an old ward boss mentality since there were never any goodies to pass out so it’s just delusional on the part of Ferraro.
Go support Operation Turn DuPage Blue.
It’s amazing how the culture works in Illinois. You could take the post you linked to and replaced the names and party titles with their opposites and it would still be valid.
It’s an attitude that says that we have the statutory power that goes with being a party official that we don’t have to listen or be responsive. Even in the heirarchial military they understand just because your rank says you are in charge — that doesn’t mean things like charisma and moral authority don’t apply.
The predominant attitude in Illinois has been to act as if you are listening to activists and then go do what you want to do. It’s good for small “d” democracy that people in both major parties aren’t standing for it anymore.
Cegalis can bite me. All those poor, little sheep were too pissed to support Duckworth.
They can all go back in a hole. No one needs them.
Duckworth beat Cegalis in a primary, and would have won if not fot the Robo Calls.
ken: duckworth didn’t anticipate the robo calls (well, her campaign)? she didn’t have a reponse? what was her problem???
