I think it is pretty clear by now that we’re seeing the Southern Strategy that will be in play for the next decade or so.
But, I don’t think it will be as effective. For one thing, once the ballot initiative is passed, it’s gone as an issue. Plus it’s harder to be against gay folk when you discover that friends and family are gay. That’s not an issue that comes up when dealing with race.

It will take the public time to get around to accepting this though.
It is interesting to see how few (if any?) Democrats got around to condeming Arnold’s veto in Calif.
This is an issue they don’t want to touch.
The Dems want to wait until people work it out with their Families; just like the Cheneys.
All the Dems are good for are repeated utterances of she’s a Lesbian, she’s a Lesbian; when they think the politics suits them.
