My theme broke too and I wound up going to WordPress support to figure out how to fix it. I had a misplaced tag in one of my posts which screwed up the entire template! Once they figured it out all was good. I really wanted my original theme so I was glad it worked out.
That said, I like your new theme. And I love this blog.
Ok, I lied a little. The theme is nice but that Quote Rotator makes your left panel constantly move which is much like a banner ad in that it is a bit distracting (an annoying). Having that left panel move as it does is making me a wee bit nauseous.
Fixed it!

It allows me to use widgets so overall, I’m quite happy.
What bored now said though since I was gallivanting around Calif. for a couple of weeks, I only noticed it now.
