And when he went to speak he did not expect a boat load of large checks.

I had to laugh when it took Blagojevich three tries to say “downstate” instead of (I presume) “down south” on one of the tapes the prosecution played.
Delgado said something to the effect all the way down to Effingham. That’s not even south of Saint Louis.
I hate this state sometimes.
