Most Important Part of Election Day

  1. But TA was RIGHT dammit. Smother your face in his gorgeous RIGHTNESS as he gloats.

T-minus 183 days til he starts smearing _______ for having the audacity to run as a Dem in the 10th.

Too bad for him it’s one of the few positives in the disaster that the national Republican party, to say nothing of IL-GOP, has become as his comrades the John Birchy denialists begin their fight to keep a grip on power.

  2. Yes Rob_N because all of those Seal’s ads I saw on TV were uplifiting, happy and positive 🙂

Sometimes I though he had hired Oberweis’ ad guy….

  3. Well, I’m sure it’s taking you a while to come up with some spin on the Seals defeat after you guys were so sure Kirk was going to get crushed.

    I’ll be waiting.

  4. Actually–I’m not into spin as you are. One of things I pride myself on is knowing what the fuck I’m talking about so I don’t run stupid shit that I make up in my own mind like your stuff about how DCCC wasn’t supporting him or the clown stories about his teaching.

I don’t know what I’m supposed to spin, Dan’s campaign screwed up and didn’t even make it as close as last time. Unlike you, I’m not an idiot who has to make up excuses.

  5. One, Allies of both candidates slung the mud. The mailers were worse.

There was one mailer we got — pro-Kirk — that made me laugh out loud. It was from the American Osteoporosis Society PAC (or something like it) but the entire mailer was about how Mark Kirk did great things to improve transportation with money for roads, Metra, etc. Now, I could see how sitting in traffic too long might hurt your back, but it seemed to be quite the non-sequitor.

I hear through the grapevine that TeamAmerica has already learned that the next Dem to challenge Mark Kirk is swamped by a controversy because a group of residents is protesting the fact that this new challenger is doing something.

Never mind the fact that the “group” is made up of two Kirk volunteers; or that no such challenger has yet declared their intentions…

I’m sure the Trib’s Susan Kuczka will be right on the story and will dutifully update her article to include after-the-fact quotes from some random Kirk supporter (who won’t be id’ed as such) who thinks that what this Dem challenger is doing is horrible and stupid. 😉

  6. My, we’re in a bad mood after the election. I thought Barack’s pixie dust was supposed to make everyone’s problems go away overnight. Clearly he needs to spinkle some on this blog.

Fact is, DCCC did come in, but they sure took their time in doing so, and for quite some time, it appeared that they were in “wait and see” mode as far as writing the actual check, despite reserving the TV time months in advance. But I do quite agree with you that Seals’ campaign screwed up on many levels, beginning with gas-gate, but Seals himself simply wasn’t that smart a candidate. Sometimes no matter how good your help is, if the man/woman in front isn’t up to the job, it’s all to no avail.

  7. Look, do you know why you get made fun of and not folks like Gordy Hultgren? Because Gordy knows what the fuck he’s talking about. You make shit up wholecloth. You are the shittiest of the blogosphere–lazy, fawning and stupid. You don’t understand how party committees work or fundraising or anything else–you are a giant talking point without the ability to think. Congrats!

Dude I thought we were cool….

  9. Feel the Obama pixie dust love OneMan!

TA, There were a heckuvalot more Dems on the ballot Tuesday than just the one you hated.

And “the fact is” the majority of the folks I was supporting (actively so) won in what all the papers still refer to as a “traditionally Republican area”.

    So kiss my grits. 😉
