It’s very troubling that there is so little news on Iowa. I saw water up to the eaves of houses, so it has to be pretty bad there.
oh, forgive me. I just saw that CNN has far better things to highlight on their website, Tiger Woods came back from behind in the US open. CBS news is featuring some woman with 5 dead husbands and Leona’s millionaire dog.
At least Jan Schakowsky is talking about Iowa. She sent an email giving folks the address to send aid money to the Red Cross.
Cornell is a beautiful campus. I hope eastern Iowa is ok.
My grandmother’s old house was at 1415 Fifth Ave. SE. On a map it looks like its not in the flooded area, but it’s very hard to tell.
I hope they manage to save Clarkesville, it’s such a cute little town.
Off topic – don’t forget we’re having a meetup picnic on Saturday. If you have any free time stop by. Bring the family 🙂
My daughter is starting her senior year at Cornell next fall. She’s currently in Japan doing an internship, and we sent her pictures of Highway one south of Mount Vernon. It’s been destroyed and she can’t imagine the devastation she’s going back to. At least the campus is on high ground and is spared. Archpundit, you went to a damn good school. She gets home June 27th and it will be a sobering roadtrip to go see how some of her friends fared. A side note, these floods have killed a lot of corn. Prices for meat will go up, because the feed prices will increase. Buy a cow.
