There are instances where it would be a terrible thing for journalists to be sent to jail for refusing to name their sources. But this isn’t one of them, and the press should stop pretending it is.

In this case, the press isn’t protecting a whistleblower, it’s protecting those who sought revenge against a whistleblower.

  1. The “elite” journalists are citing elitist ideas to justify protecting the powerful from accountability for abusing the less powerful and committing crimes–crimes that look like treason.

    I hope Judith Miller lives a long time so she can see her name be equated to ethically challenged hack journalism for generation after generation of journalism students.
