I never liked the idea of having him in Iraq. I don’t like exporting terrorists like Negroponte. So I love the idea of getting him back here.
But on the other hand, the homeland security position is vastly more powerful. Do you really want to put him in charge of an agency that may be spying on Quakers? Planting provocateurs in the Sierra Club? Creating fake blogs to disseminate fake news about liberal organizations?
I’d vote him down too, but we have some protections here that will stop him–there are no such protections in foreign countries as he’s shown us before.
