Most interesting in the poll are the low numbers both candidates have after nearly a year of campaigning. It is a comment on what is obvious to all. Both are flawed candidates generating little or no enthusiasm. This was not Alexi’s time. A better Democrat candidate would be ahead by double digits. Instead, the seat could well be lost.
Who was this better Democratic candidate?
Jan Schakowsky? Isn’t she a little old to start in the Senate?
Jesse Jackson, Jr? Don’t you think bribery would be a problem with the voters?
Dan Hynes? He missed the boat when he failed to challenge Blagojevich in 2006. Hynes has never been good at deciding what he should run for.
