Car Suggestions

Okay, why not use you all for a bit of research.

Any suggestions on mid-size sedans, station wagons, or (choke) mini-vans?

Trying to keep it in the range of the high teens to low twenties and pretty much looking at foreign companies (don’t even mention Ford to me afte the last car and I’ve never been a fan of GM cars–Chrysler is a maybe, but none of their cars really seem to fit our desires).

Cars that being especially considered

Toyota in all three categories
Honday mini-van and sedan–possibly the boxlike thing they have now too
Kia Sedona
Hyundai Sedans
Mitsubishi Station Wagon–Sedans
Nissan sedan and mini-van
Possibly
Subaru
Mazda
Scion

It’s Not that They Sold Out

It’s that they sold out for so little…

Is usually the line to describe political corruption. Those who remember the trials of many ‘a Alderman remember stories of selling their influence/votes for nothing. Larry Bloom, himself a reform Alderman barely got anything for being bribed. It always amazes me how little pols will sell themselves for

Here is where the men are separated from the boys, George Ryan sold his soul for a lot…I guess he gets points for at least making it worth his while.

Kudos to Brian

Brian, the guy who takes care of the backend of the site did an excellent job getting the site back up and installing a comment feature that requires you to enter random numbers generated by MT–this reduces Spam significantly and makes the life of the hosting company and thus me, much, much easier.

Brian gets a cut of the advertising from the site and that helps compensate him (not well) and offer up space to other blogs that focus on grassroots politics and the such so every ad bought helps him out as well.

The new feature is an annoyance, but the dastardly people that SPAM everyone give us little choice.

As far as new content, I’ll try and update some this week, but it’ll be hectic. It seems my car has been totalled out for some damage we turned in from two separate incidents that were relatively minor so I’m going to be out test driving and dealing with car salesman. Having sold stereos for 8 years, I have low tolerance for this activity.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve suffered a massive spyware infection that forced me to simply do a brand new install on Windows, changed around my computer set-up and had my e-mail generally shifted around to several sources. If you need something from me or have something to send, send it again because it is likely lost. And spent a lot of time I had off with the girls. So through this weekend is slow, but expect some good car hunting stories.
