Gloria Allred is on the Case

February 06, 2010 By: ArchPundit Category: Uncategorized

The best thing about Illinois? It’s not on the coasts where mediawhoredom is a way of life.

Unfortunately, it appears Allred has decided to make a stop in that weird place called the midwest.

“Ms. Eneman was Scott Lee Cohen’s girlfriend and lived with him for about a year, some four or five years ago,” said Allred, who has represented the purported girlfriends of golfer Tiger Woods among other well-known clients.

“Based on her personal observations during the course of their relationship and his behavior, Ms. Eneman does not believe that he is fit to hold any public office, including that of Lt. Governor,” Allred said.

Allred said her 29-year-old client “has no further comment at this time and does not wish to be contacted.”

A few days ago commenters were joking about Allred showing up over at Capitol Fax.  Unfortunately, it came true.

Allred, of Los Angeles, has a storied history of clients that include the family of O.J. Simpson’s slain wife, Nicole Brown Simpson; Amber Frey, the woman who had an affair with Scott Peterson, who was convicted of murdering his wife; and Paula Jones, the woman at the center of a harassment suit against former President Bill Clinton .

Allred came into the spotlight again in November after the Woods scandal broke, and the woman at the heart of it, Rachell Uchitel, hired her to hold a press conference that was later abruptly cancelled. As recently as Friday, Allred held a press conference with another of Woods’ alleged girlfriends, porn star Joslyn James, where her client released some 100 racy text messages from the golfer.

One of the people involved here works for a living in an unsavory profession, another is just a sad excuse for a human being who leeches off others misfortune.  Ironically, the second one has a career that is not against the law.  (and no, that’s not lawyer bashing, it’s mediawhoredom bashing).

Sorry, won’t happen again. I’m still laughing about that after reading the Trib article. The way these scandal things happen these days they are almost predictable. Even in Illinois I guess.

I’m guessing Gloria’s retainer was paid by SEIU, which endorsed Quinn in the primary and wants to see him win in November. Or, maybe she was paid by Women’s groups in the Chicago area? I’m inclined to believe the former over the latter, but I don’t believe that Gloria was paid by the ex-girlfriend. Gloria doesn’t do free legal work. If she’s being paid by someone other than SEIU or women’s organizations, I’d like to know who is footing her bill.

Also, no offense to the ex-girlfriend but what makes her qualified to know if Scott Lee Cohen is “fit” for public office? What does she know about public offices? He got the requiste number of signatures for his petitions, withstood a petition challenge from Rickey Hendon, and ran a campaign and won the Lt. Governor’s race. Besides he’s not a convicted felon, but she is. Should I or anyone trust a convicted felon or necessarily believe what she has to say? I also don’t know her highest level of education. So, I won’t readily accept her opinion as valid. It appears that Scott Lee Cohen has a GED and is attending DePaul University and is planning to graduate sometime this year.

Does Gloria have a license to practice law in Illinois?

LOL–I would have linked, but there have been far too comments to find it, but kudos! And if she found out because of a google alert from your comment, may you die a slow painful death ;)

Watching the duel between Scott Cohen and Gloria Allred one wishes that on the way to their press conferences their vehicles would collide, crash and burn.

We would all be better off!

A new client had just come in to see a famous lawyer.
“Can you tell me how much you charge?”, said the client.
“Of course”, the lawyer replied, “I charge $5000 to answer three questions!”
    “Well that’s a bit steep, isn’t it?”
“Yes it is”, said the lawyer, “And what’s your third question?”

I did spell her name wrong at least. Though she probably looks extra hard through Google for people that do that so she can correct them.

Now I kinda wish I had suggested Scott Lee Cohen hire Dan Proft for his campaign last week if people are going to follow my snarky ideas. Dan will get him out of this mess, lol.

I’d like to know the details on how he was forced out of the race. I’m sure it would be interesting given that someone felt the need to throw a stink bomb like Allred into the mix.
