Please note Mr. Burris's business partner, Fred Lebed, sits on the board of the Chicago Christian Industrial League, which hired Mrs. Blagojevich for 100K last year (and then let her go). This timing seems awfully close to the time Mr. Burris mentioned he and his partner (Mr. Lebed) met with the Gov's staff to discuss getting more business from the state. He was just quoted about that meeting this week. See replay with Carol Marin, WTTW Chicago Tonight, Feb. 16.

The job was exactly the kind of plumb non profit job Blago talked about on tape...

We also need to thank all those who have worked to get these records online and in a searchable format so that this kind of information can come to light. I am guessing that the state contract information came from the "Open Book" feature that Comptroller Dan Hynes created in 2007? If am am right about that then a big thank you to Dan Hynes, not only for this but for being one of the initial architects of the pay-to-play legislation that had Blago in such a tizzy.
