Debbie Does

February 06, 2007 By: ArchPundit Category: Fundie Fun

Seriously? That passes as acceptable in any company when talking about a woman who had cervical cancer?

    What! The! Fuck!

    Seriously, what the fucking fuck!

Delete this if you must, I’ll respect that, but this column pushes Stanek beyond bleating fanatic. It pushes her beyond goofy bitch. She has moved into fucking CeeyoUNextTuesday turf.

If there is anyone out there still taking this idiot seriously, they ought to cease now.

What self-righteous, hateful piece of human filth. She should be ashamed of herself. While you’re singing at the front of Church this Sunday…while you’re playing judge…while you’re beating your breast at the next rally, or walking around with your ashes in a couple of weeks, please remember the of the Pharisees. Then look in the mirror. If you’re capable of honesty, you won’t like what you see.

I’ll take the liberty of quoting a portion of Ms. Stanek’s most recent Illinois Review column for purposes of discussion:

Halvorson would be most helpful by discussing the health consequences of pre- or extra-marital sex. Here are some potential topics:

    * Halvorson could discuss the number of sex partners she has had throughout her lifetime and how each one increased the likelihood of contracting HPV.
    * If Halvorson even had only one sex partner aside from her husband, she could discuss how one can contract HPV from a sole encounter.
    * Halvorson could discuss whether she realized at the time her sex partner carried HPV, which most trusting, vulnerable women don’t.
    * Halvorson could disclose whether it was her husband who passed HPV on to her after sleeping with other women, demonstrating another reason for chaste behavior outside the marriage bedroom.
    * More uncomfortably, if Halvorson contracted HPV through rape, she could discuss ways to avoid rape.

But no, Halvorson does not advocate avoiding a risky behavior that leads not only to HPV but to 20+ other STDs and their strains, along with unplanned pregnancy. Halvorson merely advocates trying to avoid the consequences of risky behavior. Shame on her.

(Passage quoted from Jill Stanek, “Debbie does… ???”, Illinois Review, Feb. 06, 2007)

It is perhaps this passage of the column which has so raised the ire of both Arch and Buck.

The questions I posed to Ms. Stanek, but which she has deleted more than a handful of times, are simple.

I would like to know if Ms. Stanek had considered that Sen. Halverson could have contracted HPV through some means other than those which Ms. Stanek lists. I have read on medical websites that HPV can be contracted through blood transfusions, kissing and other skin-to-skin contact. (I have also read that HPV can survive outside the body for some time.)

I asked Ms. Stanek whether or not it is possible to transmit HPV through kissing or blood transfusions because, if I recall correctly, she is a nurse, a medically-trained professional.

She has not only refused to answer, but (as mentioned earlier) has in fact repeatedly deleted my question for some reason.

    I wonder why that is.

Is she afraid of the answers?

Is she not able to answer despite her medical training?

Is she unwilling to consider possibilities other than only those which she has conceived?

Another woman giving women a bad name weighs in. In times like these, all you can do is shake your head, pity the her, & remember that karma’s a bitch.

Once again, a right-winger doing the work of the devil while wrapping herself in the cloth.

If there’s a hell, she has a special corner already reserved for her.

It seems that, if Halverson’s husband gave her HPV, somehow that’s her fault, too. And if she had been raped, it’s because she didn’t do enough to prevent that rape.

Apparently the only thing we shouldn’t be discuss when talking about HPV infection is how to prevent HPV infection.
