[...] And the dumbest conservative whine has to be the one about Mitt Romney’s Mormonism. They complain that Gov. Romney’s faith is enduring a great deal of scrutiny … so why not Obama’s? The only problem with that gripe is its utter myopia. It is conservatives who are questioning Romney’s faith just as it is conservatives who are infopimping BS about Obama’s faith. The media should listen to every Tom, Dick and Franny just because they can’t be bothered to learn about the basis for Trinity’s tenets? Puh-lease. [...]

Of the "12 precepts and covenental statements", I only have a problem with #8. I'm not so sure I understand it. Try reading all 12 point and substitute "American" for "Black", or, humorously substitute "Polish" or "Italian" for "Black". What all this BS does is deflect attention from Obama's message. If there is a disagreement with him, make it on the issues, not this tripe.

Though i believe in being proud of your race i also firmly believe that we all bneed to get past this stuff about a black community, white community and such. Why can't we just be a community looking out for everybody? As for Obama being Jesus, what has he done to make anybody think such a thing? Has this person even read the bible?

Special isn't it. I especially love the notion that the institution that has always centered the African-American community through years of history and repression should be color blind.

[...] She considers the rest non-substantive which is bizarre to say the least. Let’s start with she cites an Obama critic as evidence that Obama is being compared to all sorts of religious figures, but she never answers the point in that: As a word of advice, when writing a column, you might try and actually find someone who says Obama is like Jesus, or a savior, or a deity, a possessor of infinite potential, a king, the second coming, or the almighty. Instead, we get treated to another guy who said something without really pointing out an example of someone actually making such comparisons. [...]
