It’s hard to deny that’s not 100% true. Weller’s actions in Congress are the only things that stopped that from being the case right now.

funny, I don’t remember writing that last comment.

Anyway, I can’t help but notice that instead of rebutting the charge against Pavich, my evil twin here has chosen to instead change the subject. Maybe that’s because, as I said, it’s completely true.

Pavich can’t and won’t stand up to Jackson. And any airport built in Peotone should be controlled by those who live there and in the surrounding areas, not Jesse Jackson and Emil “I get half the jobs” Jones.

    GOP,

I fully believe that Pavich would stand up to Jackson and Jones. He has gotten absolutely no help from any sort of established Democrat (except a couple of press conferences with Durbin), no money and no interest from the National Party. Why in God’s good name would Pavich have anything to do with Jr. and his plan? Why would he do something that he knows well would alienate a fair portion of his district? He would in fact be an independent voice for a District that hasn’t had one since George Sangmiester.

The mailer from Weller is race-bating pure and simple. Why Jr.? Why not Daily or Blago? Because Weller is trying to use this to stir up racial tensions and steal some white voters from Pavich. It’s disgusting and demeaning to each and every member of the 11th District not to mention the human race. (You are human aren’t you?) This is just the typical made up trash of a Republican attack machine that has neither conscience nor soul.

It is unfortunate that you’re too ignorant to realize that. You use “can’t” and “won’t” with no actual information to back up your statements. In reality they are just ad homonym attacks without an iota of substance and just undermine any authority you purport to have.

If there is any part of this you “can’t” or “won’t” understand, ask and I’ll try and dumb it down for you.

    How about some actual proof?

Check out the Chicago Tribune here: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0611010307nov01,1,4018119.story

It’s nice that Ed Markey (D-MA) actually cares about the people of the 11th District. Jerry doesn’t.

Here how about the proof that Weller is in violation of federal law and deserves to be put in JAIL:
    http://www.franksmyth.com/

Check the section marked Secret Documents. It’s in the bottom right hand corner. Please have at least the graciousness that Arch had for Jerry despite the fact that Weller is, in all probability, involved up to his ears in the Foley scandal and admit that the proof looks convincing that Jerry has lied and should be brought before the Ethics Committee to answer these charges. Then after he’s had a chance to answer these charges, thrown unceremoniously in prison.

Note I give him a chance to answer charges and don’t just say he “can’t” or he “won’t” be able to look the judge in the eye because he’s already guilty. More than you’re willing to do, eh?

“Partisan”, hmm, the name says it all. “Blowhard”, not as eloquent but I think more fitting. You should consider changing you moniker.

I’m going to leave the last couple up, but let’s not make it personal. So chill out last poster. All of the points can be made without attacking GOPartisan

I’d just like to point out that our state Dem party has yet again passed up the opportunity to help elect national congressional representatives. The Supreme court largely validated the Republican mid-census redistricting strategy, yet our largest Dem controlled states have done nothing to counter the Texas redistricting move that cost us 5 seats in 2004.

Duckworth and Seals should be coasting to victories with the help of relatively small adjustments to the district maps. Pavich might have a prayer. But no… Madigan, Jones and Blago all have much more ‘important’ priorities than electing democratics and pursuing a democratic policy agenda.

Given that Blagorgeous is going to get himself indicted before 2010, the IL Dem party may not see this opportunity again for a very long time. Truly pathetic.

    The real message is racist.
Fabricating the Jackson angle is only aimed at scaring bigots.
It is the creation of the weak in an appeal to the weak, backed by the rich.

    Captain Maturity –

Race baiting? Get over yourself! “Why Jr.? Why not Daily or Blago?” Because neither of them are trying to take control of a major project in someone else’s jurisdiction! Peotone is in the 11th District. Jackson is the Representative of the 2nd District. He has no business trying to take over this project. Please tell me how Weller’s campaign can make that perfectly legitimate point without exposing themselves to your ridiculous charges of race baiting.

  8. # 8 grand old partisan Says:

Oh, and btw – the link to the documents showing the “fact that Weller is, in all probability,” (um…which is it – a fact, or a probability?) a criminal isn’t working.

  9. # 9 grand old partisan Says:
    November 2nd, 2006 at

Race baiting?! Oh, please! “Why Jr.? Why not Daily or Blago?” Because they aren’t the ones trying to take control of a major project outside their jurisdiction! Let’s be clear: Peotone is in the 11th District. Jackson represents the 2nd District. He has no business trying to take over this project as he has. And Pavich hasn’t said anything that demonstrates a willingness to put a stop to it. Please, tell me how Weller can make this very legitimate point without exposing himself to your ridiculous charges of race baiting.

And please, make your mind. Is it a “fact” that Weller “involved up to his ears in the Foley scandal,” or is it a “probability.” And what evidence supports either assertion? If you’re going to level unsubstantiated, random and incoherent allegations at him, why should anything you say be taken seriously?

  10. # 10 grand old partisan Says:

Opps, sorry for the duplicate postings. With the lag, I didn’t know if the original ones got lost or what.

  11. # 11 Carl Nyberg Says:
    November 2nd, 2006 at

How tightly is Pavich’s money interwoven with Dem leadership?

How tightly is Weller’s money interwoven with GOP leadership?

BTW, what are the examples of Weller taking on GOP leadership in his career?

  12. # 12 grand old partisan Says:
    November 2nd, 2006 at

Carl, let’s not pretend that Pavich is some sort of grassroots, man of the people – particularly the people of the 11th District. Well over 90% of Pavich’s money has come from outside the District. Depsite it being the District’s number one industry, he doesn’t think the price of corn is information worthy of his time. He’s barely spoken a word about a massive project proposed within the district that politicians not answerable to the people of the District have tried to take over.

Pavich has neither the concern, nor the ties to the District to make him a credible representative. Jerry Weller does.

  13. # 13 Carl Nyberg Says:
    November 2nd, 2006 at

GOP, are you admitting your earlier charge against Pavich (“Pavich can’t and won’t stand up to Jackson”) is bullshit?

BTW, what’s the point of linking Pavich to Jackson if the underlying charge is weak? Is the GOP playing the race card?

  14. # 14 grand old partisan Says:
    November 2nd, 2006 at

    Carl – ?????

Um, no. I’m not admitting that at all. What have I said to make you suggest that?

And, BTW, I’ve already addressed the worn, pathetic cries of “racism,” but I’ll say again: Jackson has no business coming in and trying to take over this project as he has. And Pavich hasn’t said a word that demonstrates a willingness to put a stop to that. How Weller can make this very legitimate point without exposing himself to your ridiculous charges of race baiting?
