This comment is not GOP cattle-call related per se, but it’s still gubernatorially inclined.
Rodysseus is in trouble. I work for a liberal Dem politician in Chicagoland, and everyone I talk to–most of them also liberal Dems–are ready and, dare I say, eager to vote for Topinka, should she make it through the GOP primary. There’s widespread agreement that G-Rod is a major disappointment and has in common with a certain former Texas governor who now inhabits higher office the unfortunate habit of governing by vacuous platitude.
I never thought I’d ever vote for someone with an R next to their name, but there you go.

I wish Alan Keyes would run - it certainly would be entertaining. I do think though, that the combination of an open Senate seat in Maryland and a potential democratic oponent who is a progressive African-American (Mfume) may be too tempting to Alan and his dozen or so supporters. I can’t wait to hear his excuse to get into the Maryland race, maybe something along the lines of “I’ve been called home by God for an important mission…” and he could use his donations to pay off his 04 Illinois race and strategically position himself for 08 - brilliant.
